After the completion of the fourth floor construction of Al Habib Latifiya Complex in Ghanipur, Zakiganj a border upazila of Sylhet. the building was officially handed over to the madrasa authorities. On the same day, a free medical camp was also held there.
The project, funded by the international donor agency Human Concern International (HCI) and implemented by the NGO Sushilon, will provide opportunities for around 350 students to receive modern and quality madrasa education.
At the medical camp, more than 200 people received free treatment and medicines. Pediatricians, gynecologists, and medicine specialists rendered services on the occasion.
On Friday (5 September) at 10 a.m., an inauguration ceremony was held at the auditorium of Al Habib Latifiya Complex. Following the formal handover of the fourth floor to the madrasa authorities, the new facilities were officially declared open.
Among those present were Mostafa Boklujjaman, Deputy Director of Sushilon Ltd.; Kazi Faisal Kabir, Monitoring Officer; and Md. Arif Hossain, Project Coordinator. Also in attendance were Maulana Mostafa Hasan Chowdhury Gilman, Chairman of Al Habib Latifiya Complex; along with medical professionals including Dr. Huayn Rashid (Medicine Specialist), Dr. Farhana Akter (Gynecology Specialist), and Dr. Touhid Chowdhury (Pediatric Specialist).
Speakers noted that such initiatives play a vital role in improving education and healthcare, and they will set a sustainable example for the welfare of the local community.
A teenage girl who came for treatment said, “I had been suffering from some personal health issues for several months but could not seek treatment due to high costs. Here I received free treatment and medicine. I am truly grateful.”
Chairman Mostafa Hasan Chowdhury Gilman of Al Habib Latifiya Complex said, “This contribution is historic for our institution. We are grateful for the generous support of Sushilon and HCI, and we hope to have their continued cooperation in the future.”
Mostafa Boklujjaman, Deputy Director of Sushilon, said, “Sushilon has always tried to stand by disadvantaged people. We are working not only in infrastructure but also in the development of education and healthcare, and we remain committed to continuing our efforts in this region.”
